Most questions about a Maricopa County criminal record must go to the public office that created or maintains it. MCSO handles county jail information, the Clerk of the Superior Court supplies official court copies, each police department holds its own reports, and Arizona DPS manages restricted repository record review. The contacts below route requests to those official custodians. Maricopa County Criminal History is a private reference and cannot retrieve, certify, alter, or file a government record.

Need an Official Record?

Choose the custodian by the type of document, not merely by where the event occurred. A police report, jail booking, court docket, and Arizona repository history can all concern the same event while remaining separate records.

  • Superior Court case files and certified copies: Clerk of the Superior Court Customer Service Center, 601 W. Jackson Street, Phoenix, AZ 85003, or Downtown Justice Center, 620 W. Jackson Street, Phoenix, AZ 85003. Call 602-372-5375 or 602-37-CLERK. The researched copy fee is $0.50 per page, plus $35 for certification.
  • Criminal Department questions: Superior Court Criminal Department, South Court Tower, 175 W. Madison Street, Phoenix, AZ 85003. Call 602-506-8575 or email infodeskcorre@jbazmc.maricopa.gov.
  • MCSO jail, booking, and custody information: call the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office jail information line at 602-876-0322. County public-record requests can be filed through the Maricopa County records portal.
  • Arizona repository record review: use the Arizona DPS Public Services Portal or call the Central State Repository Section at 602-223-2000, Option 2, then Option 3. DPS record review is fingerprint-based and is not a public name search.
  • Phoenix Police reports: Public Records and Services Unit, 100 W. Washington Street, Phoenix, AZ 85003, with assistance at 602-534-1127. Mesa Police reports go to its Criminal Justice Information Division, while Chandler Police report requests go to the Chandler Police Records Unit.
  • City and lower-court cases: contact the municipal or justice court that heard the matter. Those files may not be held by the Superior Court Clerk.

For a police incident narrative, contact the agency that wrote the report. MCSO should be the first call only when the question concerns county booking, current custody, facility placement, or release information.
